Soller to Soller

550km / 350 miles paddle boarding around Mallorca for Marine Conservation
2 women, 2 paddles, 1 island, 1 dream.

Cat Friend (British) and Valerie Bisbal (Mallorcan) are on day 11 of their 28 day schedule to raise awareness of Marine Conservation and the damage to the environment, fish, dolphins and other creatures by plastics and other pollution. They started on 1 June from Port Soller and are now about 1/3 of the way around the island.

They have paddled around the hazardous north east cap of the island, withstood some unseasonal strong winds and heavy rain, been scared by the ferries in Alcudia and seen dolphins, sharks and other creatures. There is a balance between foolish and brave as they are learning fast!

This venture is about educating children at the island schools about marine conservation, organising beach cleans and helping build relationships with businesses to help promote the cause across the Ballearic Islands. Clean seas and beaches encourage more tourists, so the results are win-win and the reputation of the islands increases.
