Be An Ocean Hero

General overview: World Ocean Weekend highlights the theme, “Be an Ocean Hero”.  All of our talks and activities engage our guests in sharing actions that we can all do to be Ocean Heroes on an individual, community, and civic level. Sub-themes of the event provide examples of ocean health issues and positive actions being taken to protect habitat and responsibly manage these issues. Sub-themes for 2017 include ocean acidification, marine debris and microplastics, as well as rescue and rehabilitation efforts for animals in our care.

Special Guests: Octonauts & Nature Conservancy

Ocean Hero Community Spotlight: We celebrate a local organization in the Pacific Northwest doing amazing conservation work in the field of marine science. Our 2017 spotlight is TBD.
