On the occasion of world ocean day, we celebrated it at Bhatye beach, Ratnagiri in India by organizing beach cleaning drive.  All together 25 teachers including Principal and Vice- Principal of Gogate -Joglekar college and 10 students participated in event.  Along with President of Society for Environment and biodiversity conservation a NGO working in field of conservation. Ratnagiri is tourist destination and tourist visit beach for water sports and other activities. Due to lack of awareness amongst people they litter on the beach. The garbage is the major problem of this beach. Our team took efforts to clean up area of 400-500 meter streach and removed all the non-degradable items like plastic, glass, clothes, nylon cables etc from the beach. We collected garbage in near by dust bin and inform muncipal corporation. They carried it to recycling unit.
