World Oceans Week at Aquarium of the Bay

Join us at Aquarium of the Bay, at PIER 39, from 6/8-6/11 for special talks and activities in celebration of World Oceans Day. Find out what makes the ocean so special and how we can all do our part to keep it that way as we celebrate World Oceans Day for a whole week!

Special talks and activities at Aquarium of the Bay, PIER 39

Ocean Conservation Cart (11am-5pm) Chat with a naturalist about how you can help protect the ocean and watch a demonstration on how to upcycle an old shirt into a reusable bag.

Talks in the Ocean Lab:

  • Party for the Planet Blue (10:30am & 3:15pm) Learn how to throw a party and save the ocean at the same time!
  • Marine Predators and the Ghosts Below (11:15am) Even the ocean's predators have challenges to face - like ghosts! Learn more about ghost fishing, and how it affects marine predators.
  • Albatross Bolus/Pellet Dissection (2:30pm & 4:45pm) Learn about what albatrosses eat by helping dissect the pellets of these large seabirds.
