#BeatPlasticPollution pop up exhibition
Our oceans contain a wealth of diverse creatures, but our use of plastics are transforming healthy habitats into lifeless reefs and harming the species that live in them.
We're injecting a dose of reality into our tanks with this plastic trash pop-up installation.
Meet the Curator: Spotlight on Sharks
Meet Emma Nicholls, our Deputy Keeper of Natural History, to hear all about these amazing animals and touch a real shark jaw.
Meet the Curator: Lego Lost at Sea
Meet Jo Hatton, our Keeper of Natural History, talking about the ‘Lego Lost at Sea’ project with a chance to see some of the recovered pieces.
22 years ago today, nearly five million bits of Lego fell into the sea when a huge wave hit the cargo ship Tokio Express, washing 62 containers overboard. One contained over 4.7 million pieces of Lego, much of it sea themed.
These Lego pieces have washed up all over the world and pieces are still washing up.
Meet the Curator: Turtles in Trouble
Meet Jo Hatton, our Keeper of Natural History, to hear about our new turtle exhibit, the plight of turtles in our oceans and what you can do to help.
Pick up a poetry sheet from our pledge table by the entrance to the Natural History Gallery and enter to win either an oceans goodie bag (for younger entrants age 5-11 years) or a behind-the-scenes Aquarium tour (older entrants 12-18 years).
