2nd Annual World Oceans Day Celebration at Ko Olina

Ko Olina Resort, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Hawaii Gas, University of Hawaii, NOAA and other community partners are hosting this FREE public event to celebrate World Oceans Day, Papahanaumokuakea, and the Mahalo Hawaii Sail.  The event will coincide with global World Oceans Day Celebrations.  The celebration at Ko Olina will include ocean education and sustainability activities, live entertainment, food for purchase, and a special sunset premier movie on the beach.

The theme for World Oceans Day 2018 will focus on plastic pollution prevention and cleaning the ocean of marine litter.  Despite the huge challenges facing the future of our world oceans, we in Hawaii believe by working together, we can support a healthy ocean that is able to sustain humans, plants, and animals.  This event will provide an opportunity to learn about endangered monk seals and other marine protected resources.

World Oceans Day at Ko Olina is also a Zero Waste event, a commitment to protecting our oceans and marine life and eliminating waste to landfills.

Please bring your reusable water bottle to use at our water stations. We will also have Zero Waste stations for your recyclables, green waste and food waste. Celebrate and collaborate with us on ensuring a better future for our keiki!
