Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) presents ‘Aquatopia’ – a group exhibition exploring water scarcity featuring work by six artists from China, Hong Kong and the UK
Water is essential to life, all ecosystems are dependent on a complex water cycle, which is threatened by environmental destruction and planetary changes. At the same time urbanisation, industrialisation and population growth place increased pressure on the world’s water resources.
Aquatopia is an interactive and participatory exhibition which explores pressing environmental issues around water. It is a group exhibition across two galleries, marking the start of CFCCA’s - A Season for Change. This is a six month programme of exhibitions and events exploring the role of contemporary art in raising awareness of environmental issues caused by climate change in the context of China.
