The event will take place in 3 days, from the 7th of June 2019 to the 9th of June 2019. On the 7th, The event will entail a 495KM awareness caravan from Nairobi to Mombasa, the largest and longest Ocean awaress road trip in East Africa. With over 100 young people on board, the caravan intends to sensitize the general public on the importance of conserving our Oceans. We shall hold stopovers at Emali, Voi, and Mariakani to interact with other young people and the general public, with the last stop being Mtongwe Naval Base.
On the 8th June which is the actual World Oceans Day, we shall hold a Day-long clean up of the Ocean Beach on the stretch from Mtongwe Ferry towards Likoni, covering a length of 200M. The event will take place in collaboration with the local community and its administration, in a bid to inform them on the dangers of dumping waste on the Ocean periphery.
On the 9th June, which is the departure date, we shall hold a recarp session on the event, have a Youth Talk/Forum, then proceed to appreciate the Ocean beauty by having a good time on the clean beach. We depart for Nairobi at 6PM and arrive the following morning.
